VSP 360 · Host performanceTop 3 hosts by IOPS · 16 Oct 2026, 17:20–18:20 CEST

The busiest host cluster gets the fastest storage. The Cluster B does a thirteenth of the I/O and waits seven times as long.

The Cluster A drove 43,353 IOPS at 0.14 ms. The Cluster B drove 3,274 IOPS at 1.01 ms, and ESX-06 drove 454 IOPS at 0.48 ms. All three use Array A Pool A0. Only the Cluster A also uses Array B, where its 32,271 IOPS come back in 0.06 ms.

Figure · IOPS against response time, one dot per 5-minute sample

Each host's dots sit where it lives: Cluster A split across two arrays, Cluster B high and to the left

All three panels share the same logarithmic scales. The dashes along the bottom and left edges are the same samples projected onto each axis (a rug), so their spread shows the range of load and of response time on its own. Each dot is one 5-minute average for the host's volumes on one array; response time is weighted by IOPS. The dashed line marks 1 ms.
